Company goals and plans, target groups, competitor analysis, customer acquisition channels, sales funnels, the e‑commerce platform, logistics, customer service processes… these are just some of the building blocks of an organisation’s e‑commerce strategy. Combining them skilfully and putting them into practice is what sets industry leaders apart.
Having built a number of such strategies, I have been able to observe which approaches actually work in practice. This gives me a good sense of what is worth doing in a given industry - and what misses the mark, even though many other companies use it.
Lessons learned in the start‑up world also let me recommend strategic elements that are not typical of e‑commerce, yet work surprisingly well in it.
